🎉 Announcing Helm Safely!
As an enthusiastic user of Helm for several years, I am excited to announce the initial release of Helm Safely!
Why did you build Helm Safely?
I built Helm Safely to address some of my own pain points with Helm (particularly when combined with ArgoCD):

Occasionally, Helm charts would be unavailable due to issues with upstream repositories. This would cause (at a minimum), ArgoCD to misbehave and send me a flurry of alerts, or (at worst) permanently cause deployments to fail.

I was also concerned about the security of Helm Charts, since many common Helm workflows didn't include package hashing or verification. By forcing charts to be immutable, Helm Safely ensures that charts are never mutated after they are tagged.
How will Helm Safely operate?
I am inspired by other projects like Let's Encrypt that have been able to provide a high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective service to organizations large and small. I hope to provide a similar service with Helm Safely, but am still iterating on the best operating model to do so.
